A little about us and our village...
In 1990 there were 8 pubs that supplied alchohol to Duxford village, which at the time had the population of 685 people. A similar ratio today would be the equivalent to there being 33 pubs in the village. We are now one of only two pubs left.
The pub is first recorded being used as a pub in 1851 and has been serving ales and more latterly food ever since. During World War II it was frequented by airmen from nearby Duxford airfield during their breaks between flying Spitfires and Hurricanes.
The Plough is a traditional Duxford pub that dates back to the 1700's and offers a friendly welcome to everyone, including families and dogs. With it’s old timbers, warm open fire and a fenced beer garden it’s a home from home.
We try to remain a traditional English pub, serving a wide range of real ales, real ciders, lagers, wines and and a vast selection of spirits-hopefully there will be something for everyone! Food is served 6 days a week, we like to pride ourselves on doing good homely pub food, and Sunday roasts with ALL the trimmings. We even like to keep some pub games such as darts, cribs, cards and dominos
We have special offers all week long and booking is always advised!
We are also available for functions with fully working outside bars, marquee and much more. Please contact us or pop in for further details.
